Safety
When it comes to online safety and safeguarding, we promote safe working practices for all tutors.
ACC Safeguarding Policy and Procedures
- All our tutors hold an enhanced DBS.
- After an interview, we carry out two reference checks on each tutor.
- All tutors have a duty of care towards all students and any safeguarding issues will be flagged and reported to the relevant authorities.
- All tutors will have completed the online safety courses PREVENT and KSIE.
- All tutors sign a Fit To Work document declaring their ability to work.
- No tutor will share contact details with any pupil or parent /guardian.
- All private lessons are connected through ACC with the invitation being sent to a parent/guardian.
If a disclosure has been made or a concern has been shared, we will consider the information, if necessary take advice, and will make a decision to:
- Keep detailed records of the concern with no further action at this time
- Liaise with the host school’s Designated Safeguarding Lead.
- Make a child protection referral to Children’s Social Care
Where a child is suffering, or is likely to suffer from harm, it is important that a referral to children’s social care (and if appropriate the police) is made immediately.
